I tried to connect two computers, both using OSX and the only option I was given to share the modem, was if we used a DSL type modem. :o(
Are the computers networked? (Ethernet of Airport LAN). If so, you can share a dial up connection. It's not fast when you divide up 56k but it works fine with OS X. They cannot share it over the phone connection. They have to be on some type of LAN, but after that they can share the internet fine. Obviously, the primary computer that dialed the connection must remain on line, but other than that it's a pretty simple set up in OS X.
