And don't forget the analog-to-digital (and vice versa) video converter 
boxes that will do this type of conversion with practically ANY kind of 
analog camera. The Dazzle and Pyro boxes are more or less junk, giving 
poor colors and other problems, but the Canopus and Miglia converters 
are approaching the pro category, and work great. I have a Miglia box 
always connected to my G-4 via a firwire cable so I can send in video 
from my old analog Canon L-1 videocam. The firewire port even powers 
the thing. The Miglia http://www.miglia.com/products/video/director2/ 
currently costs around $300.

My Miglia Director's Cut Take Two converter box stopped working after a 
couple of months, so I sent it to their repair station in Mass. and 
they had it back to me in a week, working great again (free warranty 
work). Nice to know you've got such good support with an item (I got 
instant e-mail replies from them to all my questions too).  I send 
analog video into my Mac through it, edit it in iMovie 4, and send it 
back out through the Miglia into a VCR (the Miglia box will connect to 
two VCRs at once so you can make two copies at once) which copies it 
onto videocassettes, and/or I burn it onto DVDs in the Pioneer DVR-107 
superdrive in my Mac.

The Miglia video converter box has the advantage of not putting wear 
and tear on your camera when bringing your video back out of the Mac 
into a VCR.

I have a Canon zr40 that has a built in ad/da converter that does a
perfect job
in real time.  I've seen it advertized for under $400 US but it is now
discontinued.
