I am seeing a ton of Apple and HP laser printers on eBay, but have no idea which ones are better than others and if OS 10.3.5 would support them. Does anyone have any experience with them>? I have a Sawtooth G4, so really Ethernet, USB or Firewire are my only native connections. I would rather not have to go through an adapter to make a LocalTalk connection work. Any thoughts anyone?

Thanks,.

I use five networked laser printers. All were picked up used for under $100 each. The Apple LaserWriter 8500- fairly fast, handles 11x17, toner and drums are expensive; HP LaserJet 4simx-fast, (I own two) cheaper toner, ethernet/ethertalk (with JetDirect card), cheap to fix, fast (18-19 ppm); Lexmark Optra K1220-cheap toner, expensive drum, cheap to buy(I paid $20+$10 for ethernet card), fairly fast; HP6MP-cheap toner, fast, good quality printing, a lot are showing up on ebay, JetDirect card for ethernet/ethertalk.

I actually prefer the 4simx's because both of mine are equipped with duplexers.
