I am surprised that LaserWriter 16/600 PS has not been mentioned so far in this thread. It is the last and the best of the Apple LaserWriters, with LocalTalk, Ethernet and Parallel ports. I am using one with several networked Macs running OS 10.3.5, as well as Windows desktops and laptops. Quite a fast and reliable workhorse.
I love mine, I got it off ebay and it has only about 8500 total pages! I can't get it to work with ethernet, though. It came with a friendlynet cat5 converter, I plugged it into my router and I assigned it a 192.168.1.x number using my Wallstreet ADB. I also made sure my router had that address in the table. It won't work, though. Do I need to configure the port in the router?
