As for your quest for other auction sites... Google is your friend. Leave eBay to the rest of us.

EBay and AOL merely had a joint marketing venture for a time but eBay kicked AOL out over a year ago. There was no ownership of eBay by AOL.
AOL does own some Google shares, though IIRC.
