You missed the *most* important tip for ebay buying.
Never bid until the last five seconds of the auction. Any bid prior to that may only begin an emotional bidding war. Bid in the last five seconds and bid as much as you're willing to pay.
Trust me, you'll save a lot of money this way.
You'll either win it or you won't. If you don't it's because it was higher then what you were willing to pay.
