I do it the easy way. When I see something I want, I immediately bid the
maximum amount that I want to and let it ride. EBay then makes sure that I
am the high bidder up to that amount. I recently won an auction where I was
the second bidder and I bid my maximum bid 3 days before the auction end.
The first bidder wound up placing a total of 7 seperate bids, 4 in the last
minute and one half, trying to out bid me and failed.
