I'm saying that my max bid is my max - what I'm willing to pay. Anything less than that is "bonus". You're saying you want the item for less than your max bid. IOW, your max bid isn't really your max bid.

My technique is quick and easy and *stress-free*. It takes advantage of the features of proxy bidding. Your technique is to circumvent the whole point of proxy bidding. You do this by making sure you're *right there* when the auction ends - poised with your trigger finger. A stress I simply choose not to have...

Which technique is better? That depends on your POV, I guess. And how much coffee you've had. :)
