I had to do a survey of RAM costs we have endured.
In 1991 I paid $842 for (4) 4MB SIMMs for my IIfx. In 1996 I paid $652 for (2) 32MB SIMMs for an 8100. In 1997 I paid $826 for (2) 64MB for an 8600, and again in Feb 1998 I paid $371 for (2) 64MB for an 8600, then in June 1998 I paid $206 for (2) 64MB for an 8600. In 2000 I paid $277 for (2) 256MB for a G4/450. In Jan 2001 I paid $295 for 512MB for a G4/500DP, and again in March 2001 I paid $160 for 512MB for a G4/500DP. In June 2001 I paid $119 for 512MB for a G4/450. In 2001 I paid $20 for 64MB for an 8600. In 2002 I paid $49 for 512MB PC133 CL2 168pin DIMMs. In 2003 $75 for 512MB. In 2004 $112 for 512MB.
Remember hard drive prices? I paid $1500 for a 300MB 5.25 inch drive for my IIfx. Remember when the first Gigabyte drives came out? $1 per megabyte?
