In my opinion anything over 3 megapixel  is a waste of money if you're 
not printing larger that 8 X 10 or the occasional 11 X 14. My bet is 
that you won't even choose 3mpx for most of your shots, for speed and 
easy storage. Digital photography is so easy and the memory cards store 
so many shots per shoot that you quickly end up with hundreds of photos 
on your hard drives.  iTunes is a good organizer.

I've always been happy with my Olympus digital point and shoots. Had 
the C-3000, 2020, 3030, and I see now they're up to an 8080 with a big 
glass lens on it and pop-out/swivel LCD screen. Never had a bit of 
trouble from my Olys.

You'll need a good printer and I can recommend the Epson Stylus Photo 
R200 with five separate color ink cartridges. Beautiful borderless 
prints, and it will also print on blank CDs and  DVDs. I got one at 
Sam's for under $90. Of course, a set of ink cartridges costs around 
$60.
