Someone said I should use a cross over cable instead of CAT5 if I went directly from the computer to the printer. So I used a cross-over cable. And it made no difference. Where I get hung up is selecting ethernet in the Apple Talk panel. I go under the Apple > Control Panels > Apple Talk > and try to switch from Printer Port to Ethernet, it will not let me. I keep getting "An error occurred attempting to use Ethernet" & "Make sure your network connections are correct." I don't think it is my cables, I think there is a setting in TCP/IP that needs to be made, but I do not know what info to enter in that panel. I do not think it is my hardware, since both G3's act the same way. Forget the hub or router or whatever, I would be happy if I could just get a direct hookup to work. I should not have to call in someone to network 2 macs to a printer. Something basic is being missed and I need some advice. Is there any kind soul out there that can help me? -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
