Tyler, Re Tiger on Beige,
Why can't one install Tiger on a Beige the same way one can install Tiger on an old Lombard? As in, removing the drive and installing the software from a supported machine. Anyway, I don't see any reason why you couldn't pull one of your (non-critical) drives from the Beige (to test the theory), hook it up to a friend's supported machine, and install Tiger on it there. Then reinstall the drive back into the Beige and then select it as the boot drive.
Installing the software this way for Lombards' caught on quick with many, but has the method been used for other non-supported machines? I sure don't know cause I never tried.
What I also don't know is if any firmware issues come into play with the Beige? Or, if in the B&W, it is only needed for the install itself? Maybe somebody else can fill in this blank.
So, pending that answer, you might be able to run Tiger in your machine without XpostFacto.
