The original request was if one of the listers should buy the new Apple laptops for his daughter when they come out in 2006. As with many, I say if you really want a Macintel laptop, hold on for the next revision as these first ones may be buggy (hardware wise). Apple's been doing lots of testing with OSX x86 since they developed it so I wouldn't be too worried about bugs in the software. If your daughter really needs a new laptop, I say get a decent PC version as there have been several success reports on the web regarding installing OSX x86 on non-Apple systems.
