No crossover cable needed, just a normal Cat-5
1. Connect the ethernet cable between the QS's ethernet port and the
7300's ethernet port (or connect them both to a hub or switch)
2. On the QS, open the Network preference pane and note the IP
address. Click the Appletalk tab to select "Make Appletalk active"
and give it a node and network ID. Open the Sharing preference pane,
make sure "Personal File Sharing" is on.
3. On the 7300, open the TCP/IP control panel. Configure it manually,
select "Connect via Ethernet" Give it an IP address that shares the
first three octets with the QS. For example, if the QS is
192.168.1.100, make the 7300's IP address 192.168.1.101. Open the
Appletalk control panel and give it a different Node number but the
same Network number as the QS.
4. Using the Chooser or the Network browser on the 7300, you should
be able to access the QS from the 7300. You may need to enter the
QS's IP address to see it on the 7300 (in the "Server IP address"
button on Chooser or the "Connect to server" drop down on Network
Browser). It will not work the other way around (from the QS to the
7300) if you are using 10.4 on the QS. Enter your QS user name and
password, select the volume to mount and you're file sharing.
