If this isn't an appropriate topic for LEM folks, please advise ...

Anyone know what might be going wrong when I try to use the Finder to
copy a folder of mp3 audio files from my Mac (Leopard) to an Olympus
mp3 Player that uses MS-DOS (FAT16) format?

(Its an Olympus WS-300M).

Did something change in Leopard from Panther that might affect this? I
thought things were working in my Panther usage.

The files get copied, but they are in the wrong order ... 09, 08,07,
06 etc ... instead of 01,02,03, 04 ...

Is it because I'm using filenames longer than 8 characters or whatever
the limit use to be? Each begins with a 2 digit file number, ordered
like I want to have them end up in ...

Any utilities that emulate Windows Media Player 10 (Windows version)
that allows copying mp3 files to a Player? WMP 9 is really nothing
more than a Player.

iTunes allows dragging the files, but they end up in the wrong order
(maybe uses Finder copy?).

Does Songbird (if I could get a stable copy) allow this kind of
Uploading of mp3's from a Mac 10.5 machine to a MS-DOS mp3 Player?
