Regarding possibly renaming Mac files to MS-DOS (FAT16) format, I
found an app which does this:
http://www.sigsoftware.com/namecleaner/

Unfortunately, the same behavior resulted ... files out of order.

Any hints on using the Terminal CP command parameters welcomed.

Another renamer, which looks interesting) can also be found at (but I
