Thanks, Simon.

I just confirmed that under Panther 10.3.9, when I Finder copy a
folder of mp3s to my Olympus Player, the files show up in the correct
order.

Under Leopard 10.5.4, the same folder, copied to the Player, comes
back out of order.

Any hints on how to use the Terminal cp command, to give me the
"Panther Effect"?

Are there any Mac programs that work with mp3 Players ... similar to
Windows Media Player 10 or 11?
