I agree with you . Seems I've not been clear . I just use Software update to download the file only. I can then install when I get around to it or never. It's just like doing a stand alone download with no extra steps of looking around for the file. So no auto anything to your machine from the Software Update. It's under Menu at the top of the screen with software update open and loaded from Apple.
