Hi Ernest... It has no 'manufacturers data plate' as one might expect one to look like.
There is a tiny sticker over the firewire ports ...very tiny... with a number string on it, but I have no idea whether it's a serial number or not. That number is: "890311121069C 514" and there really is an empty space between the C and 514. It's a nice looking unit and has been problem free as a cd burner in the couple of years I've owned it.
