That's the same costs as an iMac 20" today, $1300.

About right; They were the continuation of the LC series, for 'Low  
Cost"...the Mac II for the rest of us :-)

?? If you're doing the kinds of stuff you do with computers than need  
multiple video cards and lots of high=speed internal storage, you more  
than likely need the added power of a Mac Pro anyway.

You're talking something that's running several monitors (the iMac  
supports 2 out of the box) and that much high speed storage, so tell  
me, what are you running that needs those kind of high-end  
capabilities, that doesn't also need serious CPU power?

If it's a file server you're after, just get a pc box, stuff it full  
of drives and Linux and stick it on a gigabit network. Samba rulz.

Games? Gah, just get an XBox/Wii/PS3/CheapAssPC and be done with it.

Otherwise you're doing bigtime video/3D/Photoshopping, etc and at that  
point you're up in workstation territory, meaning a Mac Pro.
