The blog post references a Wall Street Journal article, which reports
on the sales figures as collected by NPD. How is Apple's declining
sales over the last month "deliberate misinformation"? If YOU are
going to make such claims, you might want to back them up. Are you
saying that NPD falsified their data? Or are you saying it's ok for
Apple to gouge a 20% profit margin when the rest of the industry
survives on 6?

The implication is that Apple is unique in facing declining sales. They're not
- it's an industry wide thing caused at least in part by the financial meltdown
of the last few months.

Apple's decline is in desktop sales:- their laptop sales are increasing.

Is the decline in Apple's sales greater than any other manufacturer?

Does it take into account the traditional decline in desktop sales in Nov & Dec
because of the usual wait to see what's new in January?

Taking a bare figure without looking at the wider context is still, I contend
"selective sophistry at best, deliberate
misinformation at worst."

Or, to use a phrase attributed to Benjamin Disraeli, "There are lies, damned
lies, and statistics".
