Actually, gulp- I just never realized that they used to cost so much new! Despite that though I have never understood why they are simply missing an affordable but customizable or expandable desktop. I remember that I had a Quadra 605 and I was definitely not rich when I bought that- it was fairly easy to open up and upgrade- though in very limited ways- still not enough maybe- so, okay, saying G4 tower was not the best comment, and I know iMacs are supposed to be desktops but you get stuck with their choice of video card and there aren't a lot of slots for extra video cards or internal hi-speed SATA drives, and Mac doesn't support eSATA very well at all... why does one pay $1500- $2000 more JUST for a couple of video and drive slots? That's my point- there's NOTHING in between. I really wish I had extra SATA space, not merely extra firewire or USB external drive space, and it's ridiculous to think of paying $3000 just for that, vs. $1100. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed Low End Mac's G3-5 List, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
