Yes. I'll NEVER be able to justify the cost of a Ferrari - even their
"entry level" model: so should I hate them 'cos they won't offer me one
for the cost of an entry-level Ford?

I could go on for ages -

I'd love a Nikon D3x - but at £5,000+ (body only) I don't see it
happening (I'll stick with my F4s bodies & LS50 scanner). I can't accept
the reduced quality from a D50/D80 etc.

I'd love a MacPro. I can't afford one - let alone justify the cost -
I've only just upgraded to an early 2005 G5 dual 2GHz. I'll stick with
that as long as Leopard & the software I use continue to be viable.
When everything's gone "Intel only", I will have to consider the
situation and balance up/consider the sacrifices necessary to indulge
myself.

Maybe I'll get a 3yr old MacPro in 2012 - God, income & wife permitting.

I'm happier being able to appreciate what I have got rather than being
unhappy because of what I haven't got.

Live with it & accept it. If anyone really wants one enough, they'll
usually find a way (second part-time job, etc.) to achieve it. Life's
about some compromise, aspiration, and acceptance that we don't have a
right to have our heart's desire handed to us on a plate.

If Apple's business model works for them - and it certainly appears to -
then it's better for all of us if they continue to thrive, and not go
belly-up like so many other companies who have tried too hard to be all
things to all men. Here endeth the lesson ;-)
