Anyone have experience with NewerTech v2.5 SATA External Enclosure (with FW/USB Hub) & 1.5TB Seagates of the 7200.11 generation? These Seagates (or similar ones) are on Sale at BestBuy this week.
The NewerTech is Oxford 934, and reportedly has issues with the larger drive, offering a workaround of dividing the 1.5TB drive into 2 x 750GB partitions. Does Disk Utility > RAID under OS X 10.5.7+ work across such partitions? Striped or Concatenated to make it appear as you have a 1.5TB drive, say for Time machine to work with? I would probably use CCC 3.2.1 with several other partitions within the 750GB one, and RAID the rest for Time Machine. Sound feasible? I'd be working off my Quicksilver 2002 Dual 1GHz, and over my Network through the QS from my Digital Audio Dual 533, also on 10.5.7 via CCC for backups of all my Macs, probably only using CCC in the end. I was using TM off the QS, and CCC over the Network. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed Low End Mac's G3-5 List, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
