So long as the OS 9 drivers are installed on the disk when OS X is installed, installing OS 9 on a system that can boot from OS 9 is as simple as booting from the CD and running the installer. It won't mess with OS X; the two OS'es live quite happily on the same volume. I've done that a half dozen times. 99% of the time people having OS9 install problems on OS X systems are due to either : 1) The 'Include OS 9 drivers' box was not checked when the OS X disk was formatted 2) The system they're trying to install OS 9 on cannot actually boot from the OS 9 CD. OS X was made the standard soon after the MDD G4 was released and at that time, systems stopped being able to boot into OS 9. Even MDD's that COULD boot into OS 9 needed a special version of OS 9 (which came with them) -- Bruce Johnson University of Arizona College of Pharmacy Information Technology Group Institutions do not have opinions, merely customs --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are a member of G-Group, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
