I thought it was for using SATA on ATA bus, but it's for ATA/ IDE on
SATA.
Return it, or sell it. Bootable SATA will require another Seritek card.
You might consider booting from an external Firewire HD which is
probably cheaper than an SATA HD and a Seritek card.
