I too love the Quick Silver but have one caveat.We lost power three times in one hour. I am told the power supply went. I found one for $20 on ebay but now have to pay $25 to put it in.This is apparently a problem with some quicksilvers? I really like the machine and so think the repair is worth it.

If you have used Linux and are comfortable with it, then it's a good choice. However, mainstream PPC support is falling off. BSD's are a pain to work with since they are so stripped down. I have Tiger on my iBook so it's still a viable system. I have Linux on my Thinkpads.....
