This is starting to sound more like a USB problem. Are you certain
your USB is working properly with other devices. Does the modem
identify properly in System Profiler?
Yes, the USB ports work fine. My SD card reader mounts and of course
my mouse works fine.
You also should uninstall ALL that HP all-in-one printer software,
especially since you don't have the printer. This HP software was
known to have terrible memory leaks and daemons that ate up CPU
cycles, it was TERRIBLE software and needs to be removed ASAP.
I agree... The printer was a POS and I'm going to get rid of all the
HP stuff that I can find. I haven't had any good experience with HP
stuff since the early 1990's...
