System Profiler will show the volume as well, if it's mounted.

If Disk Utility doesn't show it at all, something may be wrong with the drive 
or enclosure. Some (generally older) FW enclosures have master/slave/cable 
select issues. Try setting the drive jumpers to Master.

Make sure the drive is plugged in all the way, sometimes it's hard getting the 
cables put in.
