Then what can be the difference between the two systems, the one on the old drive and the newly-installed one?
Can you try the drive on another computer? Or do you have a clone of that old system you can boot from and see if the drive appears with that one running? Or does this HD need some driver software to be installed? Or, if the Network setting for the Firewire port is off, could that be the reason? Just guessing... I hope someone recognizes the situation.
