I'd like to take a moment to answer each point of this, and express what 
is happening, and where my thoughts and plans are going with this. 
Certainly, constructive opinions and suggestions like this is well 
taken. After all this is the first release, and many things are going to 
be updated, fixed, changed, as time goes on.

I'm not certain I understand why you might be confused, but suggestions 
on improvements are welcome. Remember it is not just space+up, but the 
left and right arrow keys can be used like space+left to jump up and to 
the left.
The numpad keys work the same way with the 0 as the modifier, and 4, 6, 
and 8 as your direction keys.

You do need to be at the top of the ladder to get the gems. I'm not 
exactly sure how you fell to your death, but this certainly does need 
more testing.
I do know if you walk off the side of a ladder you will fall to your 
death. Usually, you can jump off ladders and do fine.
I'd welcome some more details on the exact steps you took to produce the 
fall. That way I can figure out if this is a bug or simply the way the 
game works.

As stated earlier actually you can usually jump off of ladders and do 
fine. I would like some more user feedback on the steps taken to produce 
the fall so I can figure out exactly what happened.

As this has never happened in my in house testing I am suspecting you 
are doing something differently than the inhouse testers. For example, 
you mention a huge jump. There is no such thing. Press space and right 
arrow will jump you 4 feet in that direction. If you are continuing to 
hold down the arrow key and then I'm suspecting what we have is a bug.

Certainly, review and feedback isn't perfect. Although, this release 
was  assuming that most players were familiar with the original Monty 
release so less detail was placed on review at this point.
I will be at some point in the future adding a review command to review 
and look around, but it is not yet a part of Alpha 1.

Well, this is the entire point of Alpha testing. Finding out where users 
got confused,, what needs fixing, and what still needs to be documented.
