Hi, Bryan.
If you land directly on a monster it is instant death. If you land next 
to one you will lose health points only.
However, that said I did notice one small bug left after jumping. I just 
found out in my last game if you jump and land on an item such as a coin 
rather than picking it up Angela will fall and die. I'm going to have to 
patch this miner bug and correct this, but other than that I think the 
new patch is pretty stable.
