Hi Dark,
I do see your point, but still feel in some ways the two can't easily be
joined. As far as the music goes I can record or make a good rendition
of the Mario theme music, or grab some midi files of the game music
archives to capture the original music.
However, some of the effects like sending a fireball at your enemy are
totally hokey as heck. I have fireball and fire sounds that would sound
way cooler, but I am certain purests out their would complain that I
wasn't using the original sound.
When you break a brick for example to me it would be much cooler to hear
rocks crack and crumble than the bang like sound of the original Mario.
Again though my thoughts here probably won't satisfy those purests who
want the original Mario which I onestly feel could be done better with
better effects.
