I can say in all honesty that rail racer was pretty cool for the first week
or so I had it. I enjoyed racing through tracks and getting my class up so I
could get new upgrades. But its just not really my thing. I enjoy deeper
games with more complexity and strategic elements. Sure rail racer takes a
while to learn, but there's no real plot to it, at least not in the sense of
gameplay terms. I'm more interested in a solid RPG with advanced mechanics
like a party system, a deep and intreguing plot line, well-made characters,
an advanced and tactical battle system like those in the older turn-based
RPGs which have gone out of style, and other things like that. Unfortunately
I don't see anything like that hitting anytime in the near future since in
order to make a game like that you'd likely have to hire professional voice
actors to do each character in the game. I suppose you could use Sapi for
the non-main characters, but anything else for the main characters and major
scenes in the game just wouldn't cut it in my opinion. Truthfully I don't
think I'll be satisfied with any accessible games until something like what
mainstream gamers are getting comes into play. Now I'm not saying the games
we have aren't fun, they pull me in for a while, but inevitably I get bored
with them and drop them because there's nothing to really pull me into the
game and keep me there. I understand about the one man teams and such, one
person can only do so much, that's why I personally think devs should stop
working independantly and band together somehow. But then that brings up the
problem of how to divide up the profits and whatnot and... well, I dunno. I
think this message is long enough as is. Just so everyone knows, I meant no
offense by anything I said here.
