It might not make the game bigger but it would definitely detract from the
atmosphere as far as I'm concerned.

How do you figure that? A wav file saying play game at the same sample
rate should be roughly the same size regardless if it is Heather,
Eloquence, AT&T Crystal, etc. I don't really get why you think Eloquence
would make the game bigger.
