Hello,
That, I believe, is bizarre. If you aren't a certain class well then you
miss out on a lot. The  character I want always, I mean always, protected is
my main character, and while I am not get nearly 30 hitpoints worth of
damage at the beginning of the game this Job isn't exactly the easiest to
cope with.

Assassins actually don't have plate armour skill as far as I know, just 
leather and possibly the option of buying chain. at an increased skill cost.

fighters and paladins are I believe the only ones with it.
