hi, yes, it could be boring, ... to some. and yes, pilots don't have a
lot of things to do during the flight usually, but they are there to
keep an eye on things. and you could set up a sim to randomly throw
things at you to deal with during the flight. so an hour in to the
flight, you might have and elecrical alarm go off, and you have to
decide if your going to just ignore it, and keep flying, or land to have
it checked out, in which case, you will have to divert, and reset your
flight plans.
also, it might be boring to some, but some, like myself, would actually
enjoy this kind of game.
also, if its realisticly based, perhaps even drawing info from real
world weather like fs flight sims can, this could make things
interesting during a flight to.
such as having to divert around a storm cell, divert ot a new airport
nearby if the runway is unusable at your destination, and many many
other things that a real pilot has to deal with.

Hi Thomas,
Yes, Puppy 1 is a game and not a flight simulation program. The only
thing that is real about it is that all of the planes and each bullet
do have an x, y and z coordinate that are up dated about 20 times per
second.
If I could write a real flight simulation program I would want to use
real longitude, latitude and altitude coordinates. You know like
maybe start out at the correct longitude, latitude and altitude
coordinates of the Cleveland Hopkins International airport. Then be
able to fly to and land at Burk Lakefront airport. And then maybe fly
to the Cuyahauga airport. And then back to the Cleveland Hopkins
International airport. But to fly say from the Cleveland Hopkins
International airport to say L.A.X. would just be boring. One would
just take off, gain altitude, set a heading and let the plane fly for
hours and hours, until you got near L.A.X. I did really enjoy the
Microsoft flight simulation program when I still had a tiny bit of
sight. It even allowed me to set longitude, latitude and altitude
coordinates. And soon I was flying around the Brooklyn bridge, the
Statue of Liberty and even the Twin Towers.
BTW My Dad's life long hobby was building and flying remote control
gas powered model airplanes. Most were built from kits that you buy,
but he did at one point start designing and building his own planes.
The first was a biplane and was named Puppy 1. Puppy 2 was also a
biplane, but puppy 3 was not. I myself have always been more into gas
or electric powered remote control cars, trucks and all terrain
vehicles. I have ten of them.

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
