If you have the FSX program and the third party voice input program It's
Your plane.
There is a tour guide in the IYP program.
I for one would love a fully accessable flight sim for we blind pilots that
is on the same level flying field that the sighted goes through.
I took a look at flight gear when I first started looking at FSX and how to
make it accessable.
So far, fsx is more blind friendly than flight gear.
But of course I haven't taken a look at the flight gear project in a long
long time either.
For my fellow blind pilots.
I know the two main people behind the fs ver 11 for 2012.
I still don't know when it is scheduled to be released for 2012.
But as a fellow blind gamer, I have been giving them several recommendation,
suggestions and the like on how to make it blind friendly and the other add
on programs bly friendly as well.
If my fellow blind pilots have anything that I haven't thought of as a blind
pilot love to be.
Please ship the suggestion this way and I'l make sure it gets sent.
I can't promise that it will be in the new sim, but I will ship it.
Any one out on the list that knows code that I can pass along their contact
info to help write code to make fs blind friendly?
Ship that to me as well and I promise I'll get it to the correct person and
hopefully they'll get back to you.
Here's hoping everyone had a nice Christmas yesterday and here's to the new
year.
I received on present watching the steeler win on Christmas eve.
Now if we could onlyu win our last game agains Cleveland on New Years day
and Baltimore will loose their last game letting us win the devision.
SMILES.
So take care to all.

Hi Jim,
Oh, i don't know.Writing the simulator itself could be hard, but then
again there is a free open source clone of MS Flight Simulator called
Flight Gear. My idea would be to use Flight Gear as the core of the
game and just add accessibility features to it. the ability to have a
co-pilot describe what he is seeing wouldn't be that hard provided
someone sighted were able to describe the graphics at any given point
of time so the developer could come up with a textual description. It
really shouldn't be that hard. Just time consuming.
cheers!

Hi Thomas,
That would be great if we had a real flight sim with descriptions like
from
the co-pilot as you suggested. I imagine that would take a team of
professional programmers as well as a team just to do all of the
descriptions. Sure would be cool to have though.
