One problem with punny clues is that screen readers will be used. For
example, just by listening, what would you think of a clue such as "two b or
not to be". Every question you give in this category contains a double b.
As for a timer, I don't think there should be one, because people might have
to read an answer letter by letter if it is not understandable through using
speech. The screen reader might screw up foreign language words, and the
player should not be penalized for this.

Hi Thomas,
I love to play Jeopardy, however to make it close to the TV show you need
to
add a few details such as hints and a time limit.
The hints are first the category which is often a pun as in "2 b or not 2
b"
meant that one word had a single b and the second one had two b's while
the
other letters were identical.
I want to give an example but can't think of them.
Something like Hobit and Hobbit.
The other hint is in the clue or what we would call the question which is
really the answer such as,
The fishy name for a great poker player.
answer what is a card shark.
Lastly as you are playing against other players in the real game, you need
either an on line version where you actually are playing against other
people, or a time limit were you have only 20 seconds to answer.
This time should be started only when the question is fully spoken.
This could be done easily if the questions were in a sound file but then
it
would be harder to create the questions and answers.
I too like multiple choices as I am a bad speller, but maybe that would be
an option.
You get the easy version with 4 choices or the harder one with an edit
field.
Phil
