Fair enough, at least not having them in a folder who's name refers to documents helps, though given that uac seems to cause problems for installing older software I'll have to turn it off anyway so that's not really as much an issue for me.

Of course, the ultimate in security is frequent backups, which is why i do that on a very regular basis, and really there's no better way to keep stuff safe.

when my first machine broke in 2008, I'd have been in a right mess without all my backups, indeed I've got stuff on there which I've head for years, such as the 2nd edition d&d rules in ms word format, as well as lots! of games and audio.
