If a tech tells you that you don't need such stuff. Just tell them
you have a real tech in mind to work on your computer. i wouldn't
even let them work my watch.

Agreed. Not running any antivirus software, antispyware software, etc
on a Windows computer is a very bad idea. I don't care how much a tech
someone thinks they are its essential to add security software on the
system to insure the safety of the OS. Even a free antivirus program
like Microsoft's Security Essentials is better than none, and there
are better antivirus programs far better than that which are fairly
affordable on a fixed income.
