A band saw works well if you have access to one.
You get a better cut since the blade is always
only going one direction, the jig saws go up and
down and make a bit more ragged cut. Plus with the
tiny blade on a jig saw you get a lot of heat real
fast, the band saw runs much cooler. Watch your
cutting speed with plastics, the heat (fast
speeds) melts the material and it likes to grab
the cutting tool, making for interesting times.
Plexi is not too bad, PVC can get real
interesting.
You should put down masking tape wide enough that
the jig saw base never touches the Plexi directly
else it will be scratch city.
