    Sorry, I might be missing something here, but in the constructor of 
EventQueue, you create a private EventQueue that lives in the local scope and 
is essentially a no-op. Right?
    
    And this allocates space?
    
    Perhaps it's some nifty pattern that I'm not familiar with, but I must 
confess I'm confused.
