Debian with a Redhat base? Was ist los? Er, what is that? INHO Debian offers much more than RedHat. While they are both Linux, they have different goals. Debian has a reputation for being a "geek" distribution. In the past, it was a server. Geeks used it as a desktop and server. These days, with distributions like Libranet and Knoppix, it has really evolved into a user friendly install and desktop. Apt-get has always been superior to the RPM package management system. This is not new info. What is enteresting it the convergence of package management. It is good to see all of the distributions driving toward a single way of solving dependancies, and making installs easier. Now, if they could just perfect the "add money to bank account" option, life would be easy! ===== Warmest Regards, Doug Riddle http://www.dougriddle.com http://fossile-project.sourceforge.net/ http://www.libranet.com -- "Firearms are second only to the Constitution in importance; they are the Peoples' Liberty Teeth." - George Washington -- __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
