Careful with those config files. You only want to copy parts of them. Red Hat uses different font paths and what not, so you might not be able to copy the files whole. Simply save the files in your home directory with other stuff you want to keep, then compare them and find the magic parts that Red Hat figured out. If the magic is a non-free driver, you might have to go get it yourself and you can't be sure it will keep working. If you don't even know where Red Hat keeps their config files yet, slow down and compare first. Bring that box in to the install fest and we can have a look at it. I'd be happy to see how Red Hat does things these days.
