  what i meant to say was i wanted to migrate from redhat to debian. I 
read somewhere that you could install debian from within another 
distribution. I did not have time to follow up on that. At this point i 
have started my masters thesis and don't want to spend too much time 
doing the migration. I just migrated from windows(99.9 % windows free now ;) ).

        yeah i know, debian is a "geek" distribution. that's another 
reason to install debian. badly want to get to the "geek" status!
