If given the choice between a RAM disk or increased I/O buffers I would almost always go with increasing the buffers. Just an FYI.

Is there enough expansion room for a ram disk home? A ramdisk for the individual user's cache would take hard disk problems out of the equation. I don't know if SCO does that, but it sounds like a cheap fix to me. > > I might also do a df to make sure that the /home or other partitions are not crammed full of temporary files at peak times. > > _______________________________________________ > General mailing list > [email protected] > http://brlug.net/mailman/listinfo/general_brlug.net > >
