Will,
Thanks for the response. Trouble is, my wife has to use Windows because
her genealogy software (Family Treemaker) won't work on Linux. She'll be
using a Sony laptop running Windows XP Home Edition.

I have set up the adaptor on her backup computer (Compaq running
Win98SE). The "Power" light lites up, and the "Wireless" light
blinks. Guess it can't find any wireless around my home <G>.

We will be staying at an RV park outside Alexandria. No internet
connections there, so dial-up is out of the question. Have used my Nokia
telephone with Alltel in the past to connect to my computer and use
dial-up, but this no longer works.

Oh, well. Guess I'll just keep trying. The pay service I looked into
charges about $8.00 per day access which I consider way too high. Have a
monthly charge available, but also high for just occasional use.

Bill
