The fact that you think of it as "fly-over country" proves the very point you

You assumed I was trying to dismiss anything. I couldn't care less what
the dubya-loving, enlightened-creationism, red-staters think of the
others parts of the US that provide for the majority of the GDP, have
the majority of highschool & college graduates and pay the largest
percentage of income taxes.
