I'm very confident we can use it for the tests, I'm just more confused about how packaging it up with GeoTools or GeoServer works, which is why I marked it "provided", though I do expect it's fine to distribute (and if you are happy, I am happy). The other proprietary databases are also dependent on closed source, but redistributable, drivers (Oracle, SQL Server), with a straight dependency... oh well, it no one else tells you otherwise, I'd say let's keep it simple and just depend on it, and redistribute the driver in the zip files. If we get advice that has troubles, we'll revert. Probably each individual user of the plugin should be responsible for complying with the Informix license agreement. Maybe we could put a link to it in the documentation? Yes, and also in the GeoServer datastore extension zip that will eventually contain the driver.
